Meet Alana
Alana Scully is a warm, approachable and experienced Clinical Psychologist. She works predominantly within a Cognitive Behavioural framework and is also experienced in Mindfulness-based approaches, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. Alana understands that the work you do with a Psychologist is difficult and the importance of building a safe and strong therapeutic relationship to support this.
Alana uses a collaborative, respectful, client-centred approach to delivering evidence-based treatments. She works a range of presenting issues, including Anxiety, Depression, Psychosis and Bipolar Disorder, in addition to life stresses, transitions, and those times life just doesn’t go the way you thought it would. Alana has previously trained as a yoga teacher and is very interested in evidence-based ways movement and lifestyle changes can support you in improving your mood and mental health.
Alana completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and a Master’s of Clinical Psychology at the University of New South Wales, and has over 15 years of experience across private, public and research settings. She has held research, clinical and leadership roles within the Eastern Suburbs Mental Health Service, including Clinical Lead of the Early Psychosis Program and Professional Head of Psychology. This work led to her being recognised as the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District Psychologist of the Year by her peers in 2023. She continues to work for SESLHD in leadership in Youth Mental Health. During this time, Alana has been involved in numerous research projects and publications, and quality improvement initiatives.
