Meet Nusrat
Nusrat is a friendly and empathetic Clinical Psychology Registrar who is committed to creating a culturally safe and holistic therapeutic space. She utilises evidence-based approaches, tailored to each client’s individual goals and needs. She primarily works within the cognitive behavioural framework, drawing from Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing.
She has a particular interest in neuro-affirming care and adopts a trauma-informed lens in her therapeutic work. Nusrat works with an array of presenting concerns, such as Anxiety, Depression, Complex Trauma, Sleep Issues, Perfectionism, as well as interpersonal and adjustment difficulties.
Nusrat holds a Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of Sydney and was awarded a Bachelor of Psychological Science with First Class Honours from the University of Adelaide. Nusrat has experience across public, educational and private settings, within both inpatient and outpatient services. She has worked with clients throughout the lifespan, including parent-management training for children and adolescents and conducted therapy with elderly clients experiencing Psychosis and Mania. She is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).
In addition to Aperture Psychology, Nusrat works with a multidisciplinary team at the CICADA Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Service across the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network.
In her role, she supports adolescents navigating a range of psychological disorders and substance use issues.
