Neurodiversity Support

Evidence-based assessment and therapy for neurodivergent individuals

Neurodiversity describes the natural variation in how people think, process information, focus, learn and interact with the world. Conditions such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Specific Learning Disorders are common examples of neurodivergence - each associated with unique strengths as well as specific challenges.

At Aperture Psychology, we provide specialist assessment and therapeutic support for neurodivergent children, adolescents and adults. Our clinical psychologists and neuropsychologists offer evidence-based treatment, detailed assessments, and practical strategies to help individuals understand themselves, build on their strengths, and navigate daily life with confidence.

Our team works across both practice locations in Randwick and Marrickville, offering warm, structured and scientifically supported care.

What is neurodiversity?

Neurodiversity refers to the idea that differences in neurological development and functioning are part of the natural spectrum of human variation. People who are neurodivergent may think, learn and communicate in ways that differ from neurotypical patterns.

Examples of common neurodivergent profiles include:

Neurodivergence is not a problem to be “fixed.” Instead, our work focuses on understanding an individual’s profile, reducing the distress or functional challenges they may face, and helping them thrive across school, work, relationships and daily life.

When to seek support

You may benefit from assessment or therapy if you, your child, or someone you care for is experiencing:

  • Persistent difficulties with attention, focus or organisation

  • Overwhelm in structured environments (school, university, workplace)

  • Challenges with social communication or navigating relationships

  • Sensory sensitivities

  • Difficulty with reading, writing or mathematics

  • Emotional regulation difficulties

  • Frequent exhaustion from coping in environments not designed for their needs

Seeking support can help clarify what is happening, guide evidence-based strategies, and provide a clearer path for school, work and home life.
