About Tamara
Tamara Kacen is a Clinical Psychologist and Board-approved Supervisor with 20 years of experience supporting adults across public and private mental health settings. She continues to work both at Aperture Psychology and St Vincent’s public hospital’s mental health service. She has worked extensively in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) programs and medical hospitals, and has worked with people across a broad range of psychological and life challenges.
She takes a neurodiversity affirming approach, bringing warmth, curiosity and a genuine, direct style to her work. She helps people understand and validate their experiences and the stories that have shaped them, whilst also supporting them to build motivation, develop practical skills and make meaningful changes. She aims to create a space where people feel understood and accepted, whilst also encouraged to move towards lives that feel more authentic and fulfilling.
