About Maddy
Maddy is a Clinical Psychology Registrar with experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She is a warm, genuine, and compassionate psychologist who places importance on building a strong therapeutic relationship and creating a safe, supportive space for clients. Maddy takes a collaborative approach to therapy, working with individuals to identify their goals and develop tailored, evidence-based treatment plans. She draws from a range of evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with a particular emphasis on CBT.
Maddy works with clients experiencing a broad range of concerns, including anxiety, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, low self-esteem, trauma, perfectionism, low mood and depression, psychosis, sleep difficulties, bipolar disorder, substance use issues, stress, interpersonal difficulties, body image concerns, and emotion regulation difficulties. She has a particular interest in working with anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, trauma-related difficulties, and low self-esteem.
Maddy has clinical experience working in community and hospital settings, including at OCD BOUNCE (Sydney Children’s Hospital Network), Redfern Community Mental Health, and the UNSW Psychology Clinic. She also has experience conducting psychometric assessments for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Specific Learning Disorder in both children and adults.
Maddy holds a Master of Psychology (Clinical) and Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), where she was awarded the University Medal for Psychology. Outside of Aperture Psychology, she is completing her PhD at UNSW, where her research explores the neurobiology of learning and memory.
