About Yasmeen

Dr Yasmeen El Masry is a warm and compassionate Clinical Psychologist with more than a decade of experience supporting individuals experiencing anxiety-related and emotional challenges. She completed her Bachelor of Psychology with First Class Honours at the University of New South Wales, followed by a Master of Science and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Sydney. Alongside her work at Aperture Psychology, Yasmeen is the Co -Unit Lead at the Western Sydney Local Health District Anxiety Treatment and Research Unit, a specialist outpatient service for anxiety, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders. She is also a board-approved supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia, reflecting her commitment to training and supporting developing clinicians.

Yasmeen’s therapeutic style is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and supported by a range of evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy and mindfulness-based interventions. She is dedicated to creating a safe, non-judgmental and collaborative therapy environment. Yasmeen works closely with clients to understand the patterns contributing to their difficulties and supports them in developing practical, meaningful strategies for change.

Her clinical focus includes anxiety disorders—such as generalised worry, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety and panic—along with perfectionism, phobias, depression, low self-esteem, stress, procrastination and adjustment to major life transitions, and neurodiversity.. She particularly values helping clients build skills that increase their confidence, emotional resilience and sense of self-compassion. Clients often appreciate her thoughtful, steady presence and the way she equips them with tools they can continue using long after therapy concludes.

Yasmeen is motivated by the privilege of walking alongside clients as they rediscover parts of their lives that anxiety or self-doubt may have overshadowed. She deeply values her clients’ courage and the trust they place in her during moments of vulnerability. Outside of her clinical work, Yasmeen enjoys staying active, spending time with family and friends, and trying new foods.
